Trump Takes on Globalists and Immigration in UN Speech and More Politics

Here are some of the top stories making news and conservative politics today: Trump takes on globalists and immigration in UN speech; Democrats circle their wagons for impeachment; Pence says Trump getting slammed for what Biden bragged about; Three House committees threaten subpoenas over Ukraine-Trump call.

Trump takes on immigration, globalism, and socialism in UN speech

President Donald Trump delivered a speech to the UN General assembly on Tuesday in which he voiced the importance of national sovereignty, decried globalists and defended his immigration policies.

“If you want freedom, take pride in your country,” Trump said. “If you want democracy, hold on to your sovereignty and if you want peace, love your nation.”

“Wise leaders always put the good of their own people and their country first,” Trump continued. “The future does not belong to globalists, the future belongs to patriots. The future belongs to sovereign and independent nations who protect their citizens, respect their neighbors and honor the differences that make each country special and unique.”

President Trump spoke out against illegal immigration, saying that open border policies promote “evil” and “cruel” actions that are cloaked in the disguise of social justice. Trump said those who promote open border policies are only promoting the abuses of human rights and smuggling.

Trump said that, while he is president, the US will strictly enforce immigration laws and protect its borders. He said that anyone who enters the country illegally will not be allowed to stay. Trump also spoke about unfair trade, the imbalance of defense spending for NATO by the US, and socialism.

Democrats circling the wagons to impeach Trump, Pelosi may be on board

A flurry of major media reports say that Democrats are now gaining solidarity in their support over the idea of opening a formal impeachment inquiry against President Trump.

Stories report that President Trump personally ordered Mick Mulvaney, acting White House chief of staff, to freeze almost $400 million in military aid to Ukraine only days before he pressured the new Ukrainian President to investigate Joe Biden and his son.

Even Nancy Pelosi, who has previously resisted calls to impeach Trump, said that a “whole new stage of investigation” could be launched, as she demanded that the full whistleblower complaint be provided to Congress, as well as saying that the unidentified whistleblower must be allowed to speak to a congressional committee.

Pence: Trump getting slammed for everything Biden bragged about

Vice President Mike Pence, in an interview, pointed out the hypocrisy of how the mainstream media is going rabid over the phone call between Trump and the Ukrainian leader, while the media is ignoring allegations of unsubstantiated wrongdoing by former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter.

“The ironic thing is that everything that our critics in the media are leveling at the president from this phone call, and leveling at our administration, everything that Democrats on Capitol Hill are running off and describing — Vice President Joe Biden bragged about — which was a quid-pro-quo — withholding American aid in exchange for a specific action,” Pence claimed.

Former vice president Joe Biden explained on camera in March 2016 that he privately threatened then-Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko that $1 billion in loan guarantees from Ukraine would be withheld by the US if Ukraine’s top prosecutor wasn’t fired.

Three House committees threaten subpoenas over Trump-Ukraine allegations

The House Intelligence, Oversight and Foreign Affairs Committees, all overseen by Democratic chairs, sent a letter to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo demanding that the State Department produce documents related to the allegations that President Trump pressured Ukraine to investigate Joe Biden.

The Democratic-led committees have the power to subpoena officials from the Trump administration to cooperate in their investigations. Trump has confirmed that he discussed Joe Biden and his son during a phone call with Ukraine’s president.

Democrats are increasing the impeachment drumbeat, accusing Trump of the wrongdoing of using the power of his office against a political rival. However, many are calling it RussiaGate 2.0, alleging that it’s all another ploy by Democrats to fabricate another witchhunt in an attempt to impeach Trump.
