Mainstream media is underreporting the fact that President Donald Trump is brokering peace deals around the globe, with Nancy Pelosi referring to them as “a distraction,” as he receives a second Nobel Peace Prize nomination.
On Tuesday, September 15, 2020, President Donald Trump will host Israel, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain, playing dealmaker as the two Arab nations will agree to establish full diplomatic relations with Israel, ABC reported.
The two Arab nations will become the third and fourth Arab countries to enter full relations with Israel, shifting the dynamics in the region.
Last week, United States President Donald Trump was nominated for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts in brokering a peace agreement between Israel and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), establishing diplomatic ties and trade links, as well as allowing free travel between their countries for the first time in history, the Daily Mail reported.
Many in the mainstream media decided to try to “kill the messenger” by trying to portray Norwegian lawmaker, Christian Tybring-Gjedde, a four-term member of Parliament, who also serves as chairman of the Norwegian delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, who nominated Mr. Trump for the award, as a crackpot.
Many liberal-leaning media outlets simply ignored the story altogether.
President Trump followed the Israel-UAE peace deal by brokering a historic peace deal between Serbia and Kosovo, the NY Post reported.
Following this event, Swedish Parliament member Magnus Jacobsson made the announcement he was nominating the Trump administration and the two European nations for their “joint work for peace and economic development, through the cooperation agreement signed in the White House.”
This time, rather than try to “shoot the messenger,” mainstream media, instead, simply underreported or ignored the story.
Every time President Donald Trump does something positive, mainstream media and the Democrats attempt to turn it into a negative. Case in point: Comments from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) about Trump’s efforts in securing historic peace deals.
On September 11, Pelosi called Trump’s Middle East peace deals nothing more than “a distraction,” the Daily Wire reported.
during an interview with CNN, Pelosi was asked: “How much credit to give the president of the United States for these peace agreements?”
“Well, hopefully they won’t—hopefully they will beneficial to the region,” Pelosi replied. “We’ve been waiting for a very long time for the president’s proposal for an Israeli-Palestinian peace agreement that honored the two state solution. It was coming in two weeks, it was coming in two months, it was coming in six months—it still hasn’t come in any way that has brought peace.”
“So, good for him for having a distraction on a day when the numbers of people who are affected and the numbers of people who are dying from this virus only increases,” Pelosi added, shifting the positivity of Trump’s brokering peace to blaming him for a global pandemic.
