By refusing to block a lower court ruling, the US Supreme Court has effectively ruled that the Biden administration must reinstate a Trump-era immigration policy known as the “remain in Mexico policy.”
In a tweet, the blog of the Supreme Court of the United States posted the following message to Twitter: “BREAKING: The Supreme Court rules against the Biden administration in its attempt to end the “Remain in Mexico” program, a controversial Trump-era border policy. SCOTUS refuses to block a lower-court ruling that requires the gov’t to reinstate the policy.”
In a 6-3 decision, the court said: “The application for a stay presented to Justice Alito and by him referred to the court is denied. The applicants have failed to show a likelihood of success on the claim that the memorandum rescinding the Migrant Protection Protocols was not arbitrary and capricious.”
former Heisman Trophy winner and football star at the University of Georgia, Herschel Walker, has announced his candidacy for the Senate in Georgia. Walker will challenge Democratic freshman Sen. Raphael Warnock in the 2022 midterm elections, Fox reported.
“Our country is at a crossroads and I can’t sit on the sidelines anymore,” Walker said in a written statement. “America is the greatest country in the world, but too many politicians in Washington are afraid to say that.”
“In the United States Senate, I will stand up for conservative values and get our country moving in the right direction,” Walker added. “It is time to have leaders in Washington who will fight to protect the American Dream for everybody.”
President Donald Trump issued a statement on Wednesday morning via video in which he slammed Biden for his handling of the Afghanistan withdrawal.

Only 26% of the respondents approved of Biden’s handling of the withdrawal from Afghanistan. Half approved of his handling of the pandemic, while only 39% approved of his handling of the economy.
